A career counsellor or analyst is somebody whose career is to create right career paths.So he/ she is the one who keeps themselves updated with different fields and options to get into it.Career counselling should always be done by an expert career counsellor as they will keep every aspect in mind while determining your career path rather than just telling you to do what most of the people around are doing.Indian mentality is that when you have an elder( Grand father/ uncles) at home why do you need to pay for a wise advice,So,to be clear and crisp our elders and uncles etc either they are professors,teachers,retired personnel's etc.must be well versed in there fields of work but they are not aware of all the fields and careers that have come up or where already there in demand but because nobody knew had low supply of candidates to join them.They only know what there relatives or close friend kids are doing.
The core objective of career counselling is to get a clarity and affirmation on what a candidate thinks about future. This means that there is an opportunity and need for someone who can provide a perspective towards the choices a candidate envisions to make. Deciding the most suitable career path is not a decision to be taken lightly It involves analyzing the interest, aptitude, skills of the candidate to match with the career paths most suitable for them. This must be done under the guidance of an experienced Career Counselor to avoid any mistakes that could result in major setbacks in the journey of pursuing the path to a satisfying career.
A career counselor would ve analysed the pros and cons in every aspect that are pertaining to each client. Each client and each student s capabilities are different. Each individual has different aspirations. And a lot of students today, are influenced with what they see around than what they want to achieve and hence are lot more confused. They would like to get into a path which most of their known people are following and are successful themselves. They least anticipate the risks and struggles involved in achieving the same. The counselor is the right person to contact. He/she would give proepr timely guidance to overcome hurdles and also discuss the best possible career path and clusters that are best suited.
Career, is the lifetime endeavor to an individual. Once he/she chooses an option during his/her career path, there is no u-turn or un-do button to restart. Hence taking right step at each and every stages of career becomes very important, if it is supported by an expert counsellor, it defenetly brings down future regrets. An expert counsellor is one who understands the several personality and skill abilitiy parameters of an individual and at the same time they can clearly define clearly the required traits of each career options. They can help the candidate to identify inborn traits and acquired skills and abilities and to choose only those careers which better suits and take an informed decision. They can direct the candidates to move on the right career path and reach to the aspired career that can give them life satisfaction.
